The Rose Dot Course is the Running Club's traditional 3-mile loop around the Rose Bowl and the Brookside golf course. It differs from the slightly longer loop of about 3.07 miles that is used by the Tuesday/Thursday bicyclists and by numerous 5-K weekend races sponsored by other organizations. The JPL Running Club traditional conducts its 10-K races as two full 3-mile loops of the Rose Dot Course, plus an additional 0.214 mile to make up the difference between 6 miles and 10 kilometers.
Here's a map from the 1980s describing the Rose Dot Course around the Rose Bowl at a time when it still had all of its dots.
